Stress, eating plan along with health problems are definitely short-lived circumstances in most cases the hair loss is reversed when the these illnesses disappear, as soon as your diet plan is improved, when hair care shows improvements and when an illness is healed or perhaps gotten manageable.

These modifications could bring about hair thinning, both temporary and also long term.Hair thinning plus re-growth items have been around for centuries. In medieval times, a variety of herbal and oil-based cures were concocted and utilized by Egyptians, Aztecs, Mayans, and American Indians, all with some level of effectiveness for a lot of people.

The difference between Provillus and other identical products is that the makes have added Azelaic Acid, another component which appears to further improve the hair foillicle healing in both men and women.

Provillus has become the subject of many studies, just like the other products, and level of effectiveness may be greater. Provillus is offered for men and women, and the medication is a combination of a topical liquid put on the balding patches, along with a tablet or capsule to be taken in conjunction with the liquid.

The essential key to effectiveness, according to its creators, is the inclusion of the azelaic acid, however, the correct amount of this acid is most critical piece of this treatment. Like many hair loss solutions, the makers suggest to be patient.

Preventing Hair Loss

Posted under hair-loss by Micheal Webb on Thursday 25 March 2010

An age old problem that worries men and women all over the world is baldness. Certainly baldness affects more men than women and is a problem that takes a toll on the male ego. Although there is no single cure for baldness, certain therapeutic techniques are there which reduce hair loss. Among these techniques are the use of herbs, massage and alteration in diet. The use of herbs to cure baldness will be viewed from a skeptical perspective by many people, but there are in fact few herbs that do cause a significant reduction in hair loss.

Dihydrotestosterone inhibitors found in herbs provide a scientific basis for use in herbs as a remedy for hair loss. The hormone, Dihydrotestosterone or DHT is the primary contributed to baldness. Therefore herbs that contain chemicals inhibiting synthesis and metabolism of DHT prevent hair loss. The enzyme 5-alpha reductase synthesizes DHT. The DHT inhibitors found in herbs also stop the functioning 5-alpha reductase. Herbs like nettle roots, pygeum and palmetto contain in effective quantities of anti DHT agents and taking food that contain these chemicals will stop a rapid loss of hair.

A good diet with all nutrients is in itself a deterrent to hair loss. The nutrients obtained from a well-rounded diet plan are essential for the growth and maintenance of hair follicles. Foods rich in the mineral Zinc have a marked anti DHT effect and must be included in the diet. Foods that contain zinc are green leafy vegetables, legumes etc. The intake of excess junk food will simply interfere with normal metabolism of the body resulting in slow hair growth and reduction in the overall volume of hair. One of the main triggers of hair loss is the limited circulation in the scalp region.

When you regularly massage the scalp, circulation in increased by stimulating the capillaries carrying blood to the hair follicles and which are lying beneath the skin. Massaging will also stimulate the epidermis and dermis. When the amount of blood flowing through the capillaries increase, it will guarantee that nutrients needed for hair follicles growth reach the scalp. In addition the supply of oxygen to hair follicles is increased. This allows continued maintenance of the strength and volume in the follicles.

Hair loss is a matter of great embarrassment to a majority of the male population as it undermines their self-esteem in many ways, whether it is in the office, among friends or at home. Before going ahead with many complicated procedures that claim to be the solution for hair loss, try to adopt these few simple methods to prevent hair loss. Many of the hair loss solutions that promise miracles are usually just scams. It is always better not to put yourself at risk trying out these methods. There is no miracle cure for hair loss, hard work and dedication to a few simple remedies is the key to prevent it.

What’s Involved In A Hair Transplant Procedure?

Posted under hair-loss by Ken Woods on Thursday 25 March 2010

A hair transplant procedure involves the removal of skin that contains hair follicles from some part of the body, called the donor site, to a balding area of the head, called the recipient site. This procedure is most commonly performed to treat male baldness. However it is sometimes done to restore beard hair, eyebrows or eyelashes.

The procedure may also be performed to cover scars caused by a previous hair transplant, plastic surgery, or accidents. The dermis and epidermis that surrounds the hair follicle is harvested, and each will be transplanted. Basically the procedure is imitating nature.

There are two ways to harvest the follicles, namely strip harvesting or Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). If strip harvesting is chosen, a portion of skin is removed while the patient is under local anesthesia. It is then sliced into little pieces called grafts for transplant to a balding area. The patient will recover within 14 days and the stitches will be removed during a post-operative visit.

During FUE harvesting, the patient also undergoes a local anesthetic. Single hair follicles are taken with the use of a micro device. Then, using a micro blade, they are inserted into the balding area. During this method no large amounts of tissue are extracted. Therefore there is no pain, scarring or stitches when the surgery is complete. Recovery period is about 7 days and the patient does not need any post-operative visits to the clinic.

If you are considering a hair transplant, you will first have to visit a surgeon. Your scalp will be analyzed and the surgeon will discuss your expectations and assess if they are realistic or not. You will not be allowed to take medications or drink alcohol for several days before your surgery to reduce the risk of bleeding or some of the grafts failing to take.

The procedures can be performed at an outpatient clinic and usually last for about four hours. The patient is given a topical anesthesia injection and, if necessary, a mild sedative may be included. Before the follicles are harvested, the entire scalp is thoroughly shampooed and a strong antibacterial solution is applied.

After the follicles have been harvested, the surgeon’s assistants will carefully begin to remove excess fatty and fibrous tissue while endeavoring not to harm any follicle cells. This meticulous procedure requires the assistants to work with stereo microscopes. The surgeon can then start grafting the follicles into the scalp. If the surgeon is well experienced, the results of a hair transplant can be very successful.

Hair loss and you… Are you afraid of losing your hair?

Posted under hair-loss by Tom Sailor on Friday 19 March 2010

Although perhaps not desirable, hair loss is quite normal. The list of all the possible causes is exceedingly long but it is a common problem that affects millions of men, women, and children. Although there are a number of fancy names for types of hair loss, the correct medical term is Alopecia. The most common type of hair loss in men is genetic; known as male pattern baldness, it affects close to 95 percent of males.

Some people only loss a small amount of hair and this is often down to a poor diet and is worth checking with you specialist. Exposure to chemicals or cosmetics, hormonal imbalance, stress, anxiety and mental tension are some of the other causes. No matter what the reason, it is worth remembering that it is only if the hair follicles are damaged that can make the condition permanent. Often mistakenly thought to be a strictly male disease, women actually make up forty percent of American sufferers.

Many women’s hair loss may be caused by a thyroid condition which seems to affect them more often later in life. It is not just in America where four in every ten women will suffer from it because this is a global figure for women by the time they reach sixty. Pregnant women are sometimes susceptible to some hair loss often lasting until after the child is born. The chances are a women will lose hair are increased as they age may be attributable to a thyroid condition. It is not just in America where four in every ten women will suffer from it because this is a global figure for women by the time they reach sixty. Pregnant women are sometimes susceptible to some hair loss often lasting until after the child is born. Also surprisingly, it is not only men that suffer with hereditary baldness because in the USA, around 30 million women also suffer problem.

The process only requires local anesthesia and is carried out on an out-patient basis but has become one of the most regular forms of hair restoration for men. It is now possible for women to enjoy this hair restoration treatment that men have been using but it is becoming popular for women who also wish to hide some scarring caused by previous facelifts.

The best result you can go for is to try and recapture how you originally looked when you have hair transplant surgery and not attempt to change your appearance. For a person planning on having hair transplant surgery, all current health issues must be cleared up before any treatment can commence.

While cosmetic surgery does include hair restoration as one of its sub-fields, this is a different form of cosmetic treatment available. If all other hair treatment therapies have failed then it’s possible that a surgical hair transplant might be the only permanent solution available for your hair loss condition.

Your Guide to picking up Women

Posted under hair-loss by Joseph Matthew on Thursday 18 March 2010

Got no idea about where to start when it comes to picking up women?

The following handy tips will put you on the right path to start seeing success to getting the women dream of! If you want success with women to happen IMMEDIATELY like NOW, then here is some practical advice that when you follow it works straight away. Firstly here’s what you DON’T need to pick up women.

You DON’T need to be look like a movie star or a male model.

This big mistake in thinking occurs with most men. Fact is that 85% of women value how a man makes them FEEL over how he looks. So if you reckon you’re not the hottest looking guy out there, don’t sweat it. It’s not that important.

Fat wallets and hot cars are not what gets the girl.

Many of the guys I know who are great at picking up women spend less than $30 when they go out on dates, and more than one of them doesn’t even own a car! (And those that do don’t drive anything special!) If a woman LIKES you, you’ll find that she can be very forgiving about how much money you make or spend on her. Notice I said IF she LIKES you! And part of picking up women is to get the girl to like you, right?

last but certainly not least… DON’T focus on being INTERESTING!

You DON’T need to have or be any of the things that you thought you needed to be, to attract women.

The cold hard truth is no matter what obstacle you have or you think you have, when it comes to getting a girl to like you, having a great personality overshadows anything! At the end of the day that’s all she wants, a guy with a great personality. Having a great personality is easy when you think about it.

Stop worrying about being interesting (that’s self obsessing) and women hate it. They can smell it and then they run. No work on being INTERESTED instead. That will get you attention. She will love that someone is actually listening and she will feel special, and that’s when she will feel good about you. When you know the right way to talk to women and also the right way to listen, nothing else matters.

You need practice to build your confidence.

Now go out often, especially while you’re new at this game. Talk to all the women you can until you get good at this. If you don’t like high pressure environments like nightclubs, try cafes bookstores or grocery stores. There are women everywhere.

No matter where you choose to go, you need to set aside some time every day to go out and pick up women - you’ll get better the more often you do it! And the more experience you have, the quicker you’ll be able to MASTER the art of picking up women!

Looking and smelling your best.

When you’re out there gaining experience at picking up women, make the effort to look good. This is different from being good looking. This is about your clothes and your hair and the way you smell.

Do the best you can with what you have. Get a fashion conscious female friend to help if you’re totally lost. Looking good gives you confidence which makes picking up women easier.

If you want to spend money on something to help you pick up women, consider buying a good quality cologne. Women love a guy who smells good. Don’t try and save money and buy a cheap one, women will be turned off by it. Better to leave it alone altogether if you can’t afford it.

Four simple steps to every good pickup.

There’s a simple 4 step structure to every pickup that you can repeat time and time again.

Pick a girl

Initial contact

Build rapport

Build Attraction

That’s it in a nutshell. If you chose the women you want, say something to them and then build rapport with them, they will easily be attracted to you. Your task then is to get better at all four.

Now go get the girl!

Male Pattern Baldness - The Danger Signs!

Posted under hair-loss by Tym Dlelo on Wednesday 17 March 2010

The most widespread cause of hair loss in men, Androgenetic Alopecia, is a hereditary condition, usually attributed to hormonal imbalances. Also known as Male Pattern Baldness due to the characteristic patterns of hair loss, Androgenetic Alopecia affects an estimated 85% of all males over the age of 50.

Male Pattern Baldness is usually caused by an androgen, or male hormone called Dihydrotestosterone. Dihydrotestosterone is a form of Testosterone produced by the 5-alpha enzyme and has a particularly debilitating effect on hair follicles. Follicles affected by Dihydrotestosterone have a shorter growth cycle and eventually lose the ability to grow hair altogether.

As more and more follicles are weakened, the damage starts to become visible. First the crown starts to thin with visible bald spots. The hairline recedes further, eventually blending into the already affected crown. In due course, the crown becomes totally bald with only a thin ring of hair remaining around the back and sides.

This is the characteristic hair loss pattern so indicative of male pattern baldness and DHT hair loss. Other causes of hair loss in men such as Alopecia Areata, Folliculitis or hair loss due to other more serious medical conditions form different hair loss patterns and cannot be mistaken for MPB.

Reducing the amount of DHT present around the hair follicles would seem to be the most logical treatment for the condition and this is exactly the tack medical science has taken. Clinical studies into the effectiveness of DHT blockers are numerous and the evidence supporting this route is numerous. The FDA has gone to far as to add one such DHT blocker, Minoxidil, to its list of approved hair regrowth ingredients.

Nature though has also given us her own DHT blockers. Extracts from berries such as Saw Palmetto have been shown to have significant effects against the production of DHT. These berries contain fatty acids which slow down the activity of the 5-alpha Reductase enzyme and also prevent existing DHT from clogging the roots of hair follicles. Both these effects are welcome allies in the fight against male pattern baldness.

Other plant extracts such as oil extracts from Pumpkin Seeds and Nettle Root also have valuable properties as DHT blockers. Particularly in combination with Saw Palmetto, these natural DHT inhibitors provide effective ingredients in the treatment of Dihydrotestosterone induced hair loss.

To be truly effective a hair regrowth treatment should combine both sides of the hair loss equation, addressing the DHT and also the overall health of the follicles and hair.

An effective hair regrowth treatment would include FDA approved ingredients such as Minoxidil and time tested herbal extracts such as Saw Palmetto, Pumpkin Seed Oil and Nettle Root to combat DHT hair loss. Ideally, other nutrients such as Ginseng, Vitamins and Minerals would also be included to nourish and strengthen hair follicles and overall hair health.
